In it all of the autumn colors were gathered together, and when they saw it the ladies

of the court who had been seduced by the spring garden (so it is with this world) were

now seduced by the autumn garden.

I wonder what so it is with this world refers to. Any help would be appreciated.
'So it is with this world' means 'that is what is natural', and it refers to ladies being attracted to gardens.
Thanks Mister Micawber!
