hi!

1) Today, I've read some new posts but they're still considered new. Is it normal? maybe do I have to refresh the page or does it refresh automatically? Just a curiosity

2) I've read some posts where some users gave their mail address but instead of the address I could read : email removed. What does it mean? Is it forbidden to give our own email address or msn address or whatelse?

3) something about new spanish forum: do I have to register again there? May I use same nick as here?

Thanks as always for your help and cosnideration!

Susanna

Hi Little Cloud,

Hitchhiker has been playing with the caching process to make the forum run quicker. It does eventually refresh automatically though you might have to click the refresh button every now and then to make it update immediately. It is still being experimented with.

We delete the e-mails so that the member will not get spammed. There are computer programmes that search the net looking for e-mail addresses which are added to a list when found. That's why you should never put your e-mail on any webpage including forum ones unless you want the inbox of your e-mail account filled with junkmail and spam.

If a member wants to be contacted by e-mail, they should put it in their profile and members can get it from there. When a member is registered, you can see an e-mail button at the bottom of their post which is another alternative.

Yes, you have to register again there since they are two different databases. You can use the same nick if you want. Let me know if you have any problems signing up there.

You just need to cut along the dotted line and send it to him. Emotion: wink

Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?
Good morning! Today, I have had a problem to reach the first page of the forum. I'm going to explain better: I logged in, and I went directly to "my forums". Then I clicked on the Home page, as I always do, in order to re-click on the forum I want to read. But doing this operation, I realized that I was not logged in anymore and I was suddenly in the english version while I set up the italian one. then, instead of logging in again, I just pushed the BACK button 'cause I didn't want to lose all new messages.

I really hope to have explained myself well so that u can solve this little problem I've had!

Thanks in advance!

Problem no. 2! (this morning is terrible for me to surf the forum, eehehehe!)

There are some thread with the blue paper close to them indicating I have partecipated in it: but it's not true! I can't understand how is possible that it indicates that I have partecipated in those threads as I haven't even read it! Isn't it strange???? Ihihihih!

Sorry for disturbing moderators and admin with this little problems, but I think that they prefer to know in order to always better this wonderful forum!! Byeeeeee
The first problem is the current caching system. The pages are temporarily kept in your computer's memory to make the forum quicker. So when you returned to the home page, it got the page from your computer's temporary memory. When you click the Refresh button (at the top of the browser) it gives you the new updated page.

As for the second problem, I not too sure what it happening there. Do you refer to when you click on the 'My Forums' Button at the top?
No. When u're in a forum like "comments", u can see the list of all arguments and if u see the blue paper, it means that u have partecipated in that thread. The thing is that I've found this blue paper in other topic I've no read at all. So, it's not possible thta I have partecipated in thopse thread and infact, I've checked them and there was no messages from me there.

It's not a big problem, it's just to let u know! Emotion: smile

But, here is another question (u must forgive me as I'm so curious!): I've seen that, close to my topic "Introduce yourself", there are 4 stars indicating that that thread has been voted. I'm pleased about this and I'd also like to vote some topic I found very useful. How is possible to vote? Thanks
Students: We have free audio pronunciation exercises.
The 'blue paper' issue is a known bug - I realise I have to fix it as it's quite annoying! I'll have a look at it now (it's been on the list for a while Emotion: sad )

The other issue is as WW described, the caching system - which is still under review..
Hi Little Cloud. If you'd like to rate a post, the button is at the of the thread, next to the "print" and "search" buttons.
