My GRANDFATHER

My grandfather was one of the most unforgettable people in my life. He was a man who loved the outdoors and some of my childhood memories are of him cultivating his garden or mowing the wide expanse of yard behind the house where he and my grandmother lived. Even tough he is no longer alive , I’ll never forget all the time we had spent together.

The garden where my grandfather spent so much time during the sunny summer months was situated behind his house on a small rise, which was surrounded by a field. In this huge garden, my grandpa would grow a wide variety of fruit and vegetable. I always amazed how he could spent hours and hours out in the blazing summer heat.

On Saturday morning when grandma was at the market, I would finish early with the house cleaning, so grandpa and I could watch games together. When grandma come home, she would find us both yelling at the television or making us sandwiches. We shared many worthwhile times together. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that we will never be able to do those things together again.

My grandfather was a very special man whom I loved very much. When I think that some people never know their grandparents or born after they have died, I am so glad we were able to spend many Saturdays together before he died. I’ll never forget him.

Sorry but I disagree with all the previous poster's changes. The language style used in the original is deliberately conversational and it really sounds as though someone is telling an anecdote about their grandfather. The original was very well written.
