Hi...

Could anyone just skim this lyrics and write me what they are about? I know no one wants to read long texts but I'd be grateful for a short explanation. I don't need explanation of every single sentence, just the song's main meaning.

This moment will too pass us by.
It's this notion inside all of us to prioritize through our selfish eyes.
To be the bull behind the rampage, the reason for all the riot.
We'll feed our flame before wasting time on everyone else's, with more problems and less pride.
We'll feed our flame before wasting time on everyone else's, the gallows were not supposed to look like this.
Oh God, we live in misery, lying here in desperation.
We need you here more than anything right now...right now.
If everything's relative, then why the emptiness in our souls?
If everything's relative, then why the emptiness in our souls?
Trying to untie the knot we thought we were untying our entire lives, we're busied up and burnt out..
Everyone together, we will strengthen ourselves.
Everyone together, we will strengthen ourselves.
Everyone together, we will strengthen ourselves.
We will.... Because now we know you won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn. Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn.

And one more question... What does "feeding our flame" mean?

Thank you in advance.

Isn't it useful ?
Yes of course... If only there was what I need... I wouldn't ask if there was anything about the meaning of this song on the Internet.

I know this is long dead, but maybe you never got an answer. This song is about somebody living a life focised on yourselves and therefore being unable to find fulfillment. This group is known to have Christian messages in their lyrics and this odds certainly not an exception.

" If everything's relative, then why the emptiness in our souls?" This is refering to the fallicy that truth is relative and the is no definite 'right' or 'wrong'. It is refering to the previous line and indicates that the emptiness is a result of not having God and not loving others.

"We'll feed our flame before wasting time on everyone else's" refers to being so focused on yourself that you don't take time to invest in others or build them up.

"You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still." Matt Griener, who wrote the lyrics, explained the influence for this song. Shortly put, this refers to a friend that burnt himself out by trying desperately to work hard and find success (aka "fly fast enough"). He ultimately couldn't find fulfillment though and became depressed and suicidal.

I'm sure the rest of the song will make more sense now in this light: it is about living the truely fulfilling life Christians are called to live by focusing on and loving others over ourselves by the power of Christ.

You have great taste is music btw. Go abr! Peace out and have an awesome day!
