I think it's quite amusing that some of you proceed to criticize other people's syntax and grammar when you yourselves cannot even write correctly. I am from Tennessee, an area not largely known for proper English dialect, but I can still tell all of you that you are constantly using comma splices and spelling words incorrectly. "Sounds like someone who has learnt a lot and wants to prove it." This is a good example of someone who has not "learnt" a lot. Perhaps this is how you spell learned in other English speaking countries, but it is definitely not spelled like that in America.

Hmm..

Luigio, you are right! It IS spelt like that in other countries! Well done!!! There's a big BIG world out there to explore, and rather a lot more countries use British English than use American.

This is what askoxford.com has to say;

----------------------------------------------------------------
Learnt, learned

These are alternative forms of the past tense and past participle of the verb learn. Learnt is more common in British English, and learned in American English. There are a number of verbs of this type (burn, dream, kneel, lean, leap, spell, spill, spoil etc.). They are all irregular verbs, and this is a part of their irregularity.

Learning is a wonderful thing.
