I would like to know some information on the use of stative verbs in past continuos. Is it possible to say this:
When I was lying in bed, I heard a strange noise.
When I was a student ,I lived in the centre.
She is late for the second time this week.
What about the verb LIVE ? When is it used in continuos forms?
Thank you beforehand.

Hi,

I would like to know some information on the use of stative verbs in past continuous. Is it possible to say this:
When I was lying in bed, I heard a strange noise.
When I was a student ,I lived in the centre.
She is late for the second time this week.

These are all OK. In #1, I'd prefer 'while' rather than 'when'.

I don't see any stative verbs in past continuous in your examples.

What about the verb LIVE ? When is it used in continuous forms? Whenever you want, there are really no restrictions. eg

He lives in China.

He is living in China right now.

He is living in China this year, but next year he will be living in Japan for six months.

Best wishes, Clive

would you please give me some exmples about verb 'doubt' in the continuous form.thank you
Hi,

It's better if you try to write some sentences. Then we can help you with comments on them. OK?

Best wishes, Clive
