Hi all,

I'm just wondering what is the difference between "It was such a beautiful day" and "It was so beautiful a day".

Also I'm wondering if the sentence "it was so beautiful a day that we decided to go to the beach" is acceptable or grammatical.

Thanks for your help!!

All correct. No difference in meaning. I guess you know that you may say, "It was such a beautiful day that we decided to go to the beach."

Hi,
A small further comment about usage.

"It was such a beautiful day" This syntax is common in everday English.

"It was so beautiful a day". This is less common. It sounds rather literary.
