Why? Why should that be an ambition? I've mentioned here before that I don't grok makeup.
use the PC less, see some movies, watch more than the news on TV, and keep regular hours. (If I did all that, would I still be me?)

Not if you wore the makeup.

Indiana led the nation in innovative governmental interference when IFFRA lobbied the legislature to appoint a Hoosierland Security Czar

Indiana's security concerns are not new, either. I have precious and strong memories of manning the telescope atop the 6-story People's Life Building in Frankfort in the summer of '53, hoping to spot the Russian bombers coming in, before they blew hell out of our pigs and corn.

Maria sang:
"Whittling." Now, there's an interesting word. Instead of being two syllables, as one would think from the spelling, it is three: whittle (that's two) and ing (the remaining one).

Curiously, there seems to be a correlation between the so-called dropping of the final g and the 2-syllable/3-syllable difference: Using a final /n/ instead of the velar nasal strongly selects for the 2-syllable variety, and vice-versa, respectively.

Frankfort had a 6-story building in 1953? It must have been a silo with a sky box.

Hmm. "People's Life Building"? Sounds socialistic.
