Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if there's a parsing tool on the net, just for the tense aspects?

Thanks,

Do you mean a free online site that shows you the name of the tense if you give it the verb phrase? (I think this might be hard to find.)

Or do you mean a free online site that shows you the verb phrase if you give it the name of the tense and the verb you want to see in that tense? (There are quite a few sites that will conjugate a verb for you like this.)

Well, I guess it's the second choice. Can you tell me which sites?

Having said this, I know all the tense aspects; it's seeing them in complex sentences. Simple sentences I already know. Hope this makes sense.

Here's a Google search. You can explore the various sites and see which ones suit your purposes.

Here's one of the sites listed in that search.

A site that conjugates verbs will not show you any sentences whatsoever. It only shows verb forms.

Thanks CJ. Good to know, but having looked at a couple, I think I wanted the first choice. Probably too hard to devise, which is why there isn't one. Emotion: mmm

Not easy, but you can "play computer" and work them out yourself.

You already know that anything with -ing is going to have "continuous" in the name of the tense.

You already know that anything with auxiliary have (have, has, had) is going to have "perfect" in the name of the tense.

And so on, and so on.

Yes, you're right.

As usual. Emotion: rofl
