Hello,

The price of a car was higher than those of houses and boats.
The price of a car was higher than that of houses and boats.

Is it ok to use "than those of" even if the first part was "the price of"?

Thank you.

OK? That's debatable.
To keep parallel construction (and to avoid the question), I would keep house and boat both in the singular - with 'a').
