Hello Clive,

Thank you. But I forgot to ask why it was not correct... I should never use IF after "do you think", shouldn't I? But, as I understand, it is right to say THAT after. For example:

Do you think THAT it is a good idea?
Hi,

1. Do you think _ it is a good idea? Correct.
2. Do you think if it is a good idea? Not correct.

I forgot to ask why it was not correct... In its transitive form, you think 'something'. The verb uses a noun-like direct object.

I should never use IF after "do you think" No, unless it's part of a subordinate clause, eg I think (that) if it rains, I will get wet.

But, as I understand, it is right to say THAT after. For example: Do you think THAT it is a good idea? Yes, a noun clause is fine.

Best wishes, Clive
