Regional variation. Most people in the places I've lived make it rhyme with "door."
I sometimes have trouble with two consecutive words that begin with the same glide+vowel, as in

you use
when we

and I'm a native speaker!

Hi Alienvoord,

You wrote:

I'm not surprised at all. Lots of people have trouble with some aspects of their native language. To give you another example, some people cannot pronounce 'r' or 's' properly even though they speak English natively. Normally these people will learn to pronounce the sounds they have trouble with almost correctly (or correctly) as they get older, though.
as non-native speaker i don't find so much difficulties in pronunciation
but as a student i face a lot of troubles because we used to hear it wrong from our teachers , for example : comfortable , situation , suggestion , plan and plane " we mixed between them " and alot of other vocabularies i don't remember else now
So the problem with these words that we hear and memorize them in the wrong way .

Hi FRANKLY SPEAKING,

Do you mind me asking where you had teachers who didn't know how to pronounce English words correctly?
Teachers: We supply a list of EFL job vacancies
OF COURSE i don't mind my friend , But i think you didn't get my idea . I told that i had bad teachers when i was in the primary school " not too bad " but they made mistakes ...Of course i haven't recognize that till now , Because i am in the university now and i am old enough to realize what is right and what is wrong .
This is not the case of all the students " I MEAN the majority of the students had good teachers " AS you know not all your fingers are the same
Now you get me ... RIGHT
FRANKLY SPEAKING

Mythical LadyI hate a word I've first encountered in studying poetry. I can hardly pronounce it (though many people say I speak nearly like a native). Even now I can't remember it. See I makes my blood boil Emotion: angry.I think it's a technique the poet used when he used words whose sounds suggest the meanings like cuckoo.

Can you help me remembering it?? It's something like omonatapoia !!!!

Thanks in advance

is it onomatopoea?
