Can you help me understanding what this sentences mean?
-Angie could't help smiling when Oscar brought her the breakfast
-I can't help going to the movies.

Some people have explained it to me, but I never fully understood it.
Thank you

Here is my try:

If you can't help doing something, you do it in the end despite all your attempts .
Here's my explanation:
If you can't help doing something, it means that you can't resist doing it.
e.g. I can't help falling in love with you. I can't resist it . You have charmed me, and now I'm falling in love with you.

Best wishes,
