Dear teacher,

Please help me to show which sentence is the same meaning as the following sentence: "He'll settle down and then his business will develop."

1. One he settle down and then his business will develop.

2. One he has settled down and then his business will develop.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

....which sentence is the same meaning as the following sentence: "He'll settle down and then his business will develop."

1. Once he settles down, his business will develop.

2. Once he has settled down, his business will develop.

I don't see a lot of difference between these two sentences. Both are very close to the meaning you want. Version 2 stresses a bit more that the action of settling down needs to be completed before the business will start to develop.

Best wishes, Clive
