Well diamondrg,I think there have been a misunderstanding, i didn't mean to use that word for MrPedantic's religion only. It was meant for everything known as the religion even to my own kinda stuffs !!!

Well, I don't have a religion, as it happens, so it doesn't affect me personally.

It's more a case of checking your shoes before you post so you don't tread anything into the carpet. (It's new.)

Well, I agree with argusdame and I appreciate Spud too because it is beyound our knowledge but still we can think it's just to get in touch with the truth... and know the things...

But Ann don't you think it's a pathetic view to regard ourself from that kind of thing when the whole world has found something against the Darwin ???

May this New Year be very aspicious to everyone around the world.

Hey you guys, as-la-mu-alai-kum (Peace be upon you)

Why is this topic ending at the end of 2005? We should keep this topic up to date and discuss. Let me state first of all, when you want to look for your purpose in life you have to both go deep within yourself as well expand your knowledge and acquire experience. Responding to the remark about not to be religious, but be spiritual, is not totally true. Being spiritual goes along with religion, therefore it should be seen as one. Since we are in this time in such an influential world (20th century A.D.) the complete purpose of creation has been deviated (Materialism).

Now, there are main believes in the world; christianity (could be covered under Judaism, Hinduism, Buddism, etc. = 48% of the worlds population ) , Islam (22%) and Atheism (14%). Most of them last believers (atheists) believe in science or simply "nothing" because they have mostly denied the believe of christianity (most atheists are westerners). Let me mention, that if the largest population of the world believes in christianity (Islam second largest), why is it that the bible contains thousands of errors, contraditions and out of reality verses, conflicting with modern science and knowledge? And why have during the centuries the christians denied the understanding of Islam????

I am 21 years old former christian from the Netherlands and have inherited the religion from my family (catholic). Though, I have not simply accepted its teachings (blind believe). A short time ago I have converted to Islam, not because I can get 4 wifes, haha, but of its purity. Islam and the Quran teach very precise things relating to daily life, how to optain purity, peace and good friendships, and avoid troubles, sins and anger. Furthermore the authenticity of the book (Quran) is miraculous, cause it contains over 1000 verses relating to science and non of them (so far proved and correctly interperted) are in contradition with modern science. This book is genious (I am currently studying it, plus the bible) and I can advise you to do the same.

To get a good overview of the authenticity of holy scriptures in the past, I advise you to read the book "The Bible, The Quran and Science" by Dr. Maurice Bucaille (translated from French). It opens your eyes!!

The purpose of creation is to submit your will to god (Allah) and do nothing else than good, create peace among the people. By Jihad (no it does not mean holy war but it means "to struggle!!") you will be tested by Allah and if you pass the test, you will be admitted to the gardens of paradise, and that aint no bull!!!

Peace be upon you and that you may find your purpose in life.

Personally I believe in God which is a supreme power controlling the whole universe and according to me man made religion to follow a path to lead their life more peacefully and methodically . I don't know what is the ultimate purpose of God to create this universe.
I often found in this forum some people are preaching about Islam. My question is, if Islam is so great and teaches friendship, harmony ,equality etc then why do the followers of Islam fight among themselves with an issue of Siya and Sunni. Is there no solution about this in Quran.

to put ourselves in god's shoes is vain, (off tangentbut bare with me) one can easily see around us that we are all striving for certain things - whether it be money, children, a wife, or a good time with friends. this drive to "want" is inherent is us. however there are times where we feel like we dont need anything in the world - when we experience a moment of joy - of genuine laughter - or something of that sort. u feel in a sense full. after words, we continue to strive for whatever it is we do - but why? because we want that moment of fullness to reoccur. our actions are our way of making the "joy" come back into our lives whether it be directly or indirectly. this drive i speak of is neccessary for our existence as a human race. without the drive we would be disconnected from what is our reality we expeience now - our new reality (without this drive) would be disconnected and neutrality would occur - we would cease to exist ( i could explain but it would take too much space - i encourage u to think about it). There would be no need (and couldn't exist) for an imagination in us to think of "new and wonderful" things (whatever the individual; deems it to be). without it, we could not bring in "new" into the world. imagination is necessary to bring new in the world. so the fact that we are alive today, makes me think that the earliest things to exist had to have a conviction or sort to strive to be fufilled. i personally believe in god and that he gave us this conviction. so the problem of satisfaction or fufillment comes back. we cannot attain this here on earth - so in our creation we were meant to recognize that worldly substance cannot fufill us - there is something beyond us that can - god. with this understanding, life can be directed toward god in a new light - one that i think he would smile upon. its up to the person to do what he thinks is right - god leaves it up to us - so our purpose in essence is up to us, where god would prefer us to choose him - that is all - his purpose of our creation - for us to choose him freely.
The Ultimate Purpose of Creation:
Though different people, on account of their shortsightedness or lack of courage, appoint various types of objectives for their lives and stop short at worldly purposes and desires, yet the purpose that God Almighty has specified in His Holy Word is: I have created angels, jinn and men so that they should worship me (51: 57) . According to this verse the true purpose of human life is the worship and understanding of God Almighty and devotion to Him.
