Hi

I made some sentences, but I am not sure whether they are right or not. If you find something wrong in Grammar or vocabulary, help me check them. Thank you very much.

1. All faculty had better not confine themselves in an ivory tower; that is, they should spend some time on gaining pragmatic skills in job market or society rather than focus primarily on the abstract theories of books.

2. Economics professors should work as a consultant for enterprisers in order for them to understand the trend of these industries. It is through working in the job market that professors can successfully integrate theory and practice. This would help their students survive in today’s work-oriented society.

3. Reading the Analects of Confucius helps me to see something I have never observed before; namely, this book enable me look things at a thoughtful perspective.

I'm going to do only one of these:

2.Economics professors should work as a consultant - this is singular, and professors is plural - try consultants for enterprisers - I'm not sure what word you mean in order for them to understand the trends of these industries. It is through working in the job market that professors can successfully integrate theory and practice. This would help their students survive in today’s work-oriented society.

Grammatically, everthing else is fine, but a little wordier than I would like.

"In order to" can usually be rewritten simply as "to." You have "in order for them to" - perhaps "so they can" would work.

"It is through X that Y" - can be rewrittent to "By X, Y" - By working in the job market, professors

So, in total:

Economics professors should work as as consultants for [?] so they can understand the trends of these industries. By working in the job market, professors can successfully integrate theory and practice. This would help their students survive in today’s work-oriented society.

Adonis1. All faculty had better not confine themselves in an ivory tower; that is, they should spend some time on gaining pragmatic skills in job market or society rather than focus primarily on the abstract theories of books.

I try the first and the third.

1. No faculty member can ever live in ivory towers. They are demanded to work occasionally in the real world to get practical knowledge rather than to be stuck to abstract theories written in books.

3. The passages in the Analects of Confucius are teaching how to see things new to us. The book helps me a lot in looking things with a thoughtful perspective.
