Before looking at the 'and/the' usage, let me say that I have trouble understanding your overall meaning.

In particular, I have trouble with your wording we measured the distance between the spine of scapula(1)
Surely the spine and the scapula are two different things?
Do you perhaps mean 'We measured the distance between the spine and the scapula?'

Do you then mean 'We also measured the distance between the spine and the coracoid process?' How do you measure the distance from a place to a process? 'Process' may not be a good word to choose.

Best wishes, Clive

i shortened the sentence 'cause what i was seekin was only a quick grammatical check. since i am an md there is no problem with the spine of the scapula and the process. i gave numbers in paranthesis for the landmarks in order to indicate what i wanted to mean. the terms shortened by me are not the problems i deal with now. so please help me in grammar instead of acting as a doc.

Grammar is not simply a mathematical or formulaic process, so we find it usually helps to first at least try to consider the overall meaning. I had no intention of acting as a doctor, so your comment about that to one who is volunteering to help you seems slightly unkind.

The structure of what you wrote seems fine. I'd describe it as distances between (1) and (2,3,4, and 5) For extra clarity, you might wish to add a comma after item 4.

As a layman, I hesitate to suggest that you perhaps should say '. . . and the inferior border . . .'

Best wishes, Clive
i am sorry. i think i was a lil bit unkind. thank you for the reply Emotion: smile
