My mum was corrected by my brother-in-law stating, It’s not them it’s those. My mum said; “ I really like them.” Referring to my sister’s oysters she had just tasted.

Is he correct?

I'll put bets on your mum.

e.g. She ate one or two oysters.

Sister asks: Do you like my oysters?
Mum answers, "Yes, I really like them. I'd like another one of those oysters." (Pointing to the plate of sister's oysters on the sideboard, not to a different plate of oysters that brother-in-law fixed.)
