Yes, I agree that RomanS is the mistake. Remains acts as a noun and is usually used in the plural.

I have some more notes, though I am not 100% sure:

I wouldn't put a comma here because to me it is a restrictive relative clause (the springs around which the Romans built...).

I believe it should be the gorgeous abbey, because this is the abbey with the famous stained glasses (which everybody is expected to know about).
