Hi

An author of a book about magic writes:

A harmonious household also allows positive outside energies - called ch'i by the Chinese - to enter the house in beneficial amounts, unimpeded, thereby lending energy.

I'm not sure I understand that last part. If the house takes in the energy it "borrows" the energy not "lends" it? Besides that last phrase sounds strange to me. Is it OK as it is, or maybe the author expressed himself awkwardly?

The phrase is fine and natural.

Lend = contribute. to furnish or impart: Distance lends enchantment to the view

Hi

So it just means that the outside energies give the energies to the home.
