"Chuck" is a cut, isn't it? MWCD11 agrees 1 : ... "Ground chuck" is chuck (or "chuck steak") that's been ground.

Sorry..that should have been "chunk". I'm not sure what word would have worked better. A handful? Fistful? Wad?

Glob?
I'd say that one is formed when the meat is pressed into a flattish shape.

Yes, but before that, if a truly delicious hamburger is desired, one must abandon the "100% beef" idea and add a bunch of stuff. I am not a cook, but my second wife made great burgers. I know that, besides beef, there was also some ground sausage, egg, onion soup powder, and who knows what else, involved. Yummy! I was the one barbecuing them, but that's all.

I always slice my hamburgers, as otherwise it is too difficult to keep the proper meat:bun ratio towards the end.

You may have something there, but I wonder if it's a sandwich.

You didn't eat them?

Nutella can be in a sandwich. But is Nutella chocolate?

At the time (1940s), cocoa was in short supply due to war rationing, and chocolate was a delicacy
limited to a lucky few. So Pietro Ferrero mixed
cocoa with toasted hazelnuts, cocoa butter and
vegetable oils to create an economical spread of
chocolate which he called "pasta gianduja" ...
Anyone who thinks that Nutella is some totally innocent, wholesome health food is kidding themselves. If it was good for you, it would taste like Marmite.

Possibly repeating myself: My sister-in-law once made hamburgers with onion soup mix blended in, but didn't mentioned the onion soup mix to anyone. She assumed everyone would love the hamburgers that way. I nearly threw up with the first bite. How horrible it tasted! I ended up eating a hot dog. (There are lots of things in a hot dog, but I've never seen "onion" listed as one of them.)
Mushrooms are another thing (1) not to serve me. I can justify that, though: Several months ago I was tested for food allergies, and my dislike for those slimy bits of fungus is now certified as sensible (for me).
(1) Mushrooms are "other things"? A mushroom is another thing? Or is it ok to treat "mushrooms" as both plural and singular? Or maybe "thing" is plural in that instance. Comments?

I'm sure that using proper amounts is part of the recipe for success.

I beg to disagree. Nutella is indeed totally innocent and wholesome food. Why else would my local supermarket be selling 3-kg (= 6.6 pound) jars of the stuff right now?

Note that "mentioned" should be "mention." Did I proofread it? Of course I did... and missed the error.

Well, no one else had a problem. Just the little old onion-disliker me.
