The first. Only one finite verb per clause.
Depends whether or not they were on or in the bed.

We say 'in' bed when we are under the covers. We say 'on' the bed when we are on top of the covers.
Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?

Isn't 'on' my bed sounds better ?
