Hi everyone, good afternoon.

Could anyone be so kind of as to prove this letter for me ?

Dear Mr. Smith, No problem I can go your company for the third job interview for your computer programmer's position this Friday at 3PM. But I am wondering that if it is possible that you can E-mail me that programming question and let me work on it from home instead of work on it in your company this Friday. Since I really don't think I am able to spend more than three hours in your company in San Francisco this Friday afternoon. Thanks.

> Hi, thanks for your interest in my company. We are in the final stages of completing the interview process for you. There is one more programming test that we want you to take when you are here this Friday and with that we should be able to wrap this up. Thank You and see you on Friday. Thanks for your time too. - Smith

Thank you everyone Emotion: smile

Dear Mr. Smith,

No problem. I can come to your company for the third job interview for your computer programmer's position this Friday at 3 PM. But I am wondering if it is possible for you to E-mail me that programming question and let me work on it from home, instead of att your company this Friday. The reason for my request is that I really don't think I am able to spend more than three hours at your company in San Francisco this Friday afternoon. Thanks.

"No problem" and "thanks" are both fairly informal. (They are fine, if that's the tone you want.)

I said "come" instead of "go" because you were invited to visit the company. From his perspective, Mr. Smith is wondering if you can come to the company.

I used "at your company" instead of "in your company" partially because you are arranging to make a single visit. You are not part of the company yet.

Could anyone be so kind of as to prove this letter for me ? (proof is the word I think you want here; it's short for proofread.

Good luck!
Hello Jc, and welcome to the forums.

I'll work on your e-mail, but wording aside, I think you are making a very big mistake if you dictate to the employer how much time you will spend at the company for an interview. If I were the hiring manager and someone I wanted for a third interview (in other words, someone I obviously was interested in hiring) said that he wasn't going to spend more than x amount of time, my interpretation would be that he didn't want the job very much. Now, if your interview is at 3 p.m. and you have plans for the weekend that just can't be changed, you can still express that, but with a little more expression of the company's needs as well.

No problem is absolute the wrong tone to take in a professional e-mail. It is far too informal and also says that you're doing them the favor of coming to visit.

Dear Mr. Smith,

I look forward to seeing you again this Friday at 3 p.m. However, I am under a bit of a time contraint this weekend, and would need to be leaving by 6 p.m. Will this present any diffuculties? If so, perhaps we could reschedule my final interview for another time or day in the very near future. Alternatively, would you consider e-mailing me the programming test for me to work on at home, to make the most of the time that I will be with you on site? Thank you again for your time and assistance so far.

Good luck on your interview

Hi,

If I were Mr. Smith, I wouldn't want to send you the test. He 'd want to ensure that you do the test, and that you don't ask your computer-ace pal to do it for you. Such things happen.

Good luck with the interview, Clive
Thank you every one. Did I make any mistake on this letter?

Dear Mr. Smith, I will be at your company this Friday at 3PM. Will the programming test this Friday going to be a hand on exercise, an open book test or a close book test?

Once again, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to talk to me about your programmer’s position and make the test questions for me to try on it. I appreciate very much for your time and consideration.

Thank you so much everyone.
MY 2 cent input (could be worth more).Emotion: big smile

When we reply e-mail or by phone, avoid asking questions about pays and benefits before the interview. Answer questions only when asked, no more than necessary. You do not want to jeopardize any possibility of making the interview by asking or answering any inopportune questions.

I've made a few corrections and suggestions -

Dear Mr. Smith,

I will be at your office this Friday at 3PM. Will the programming test this Friday be a hands-on exercise, an open book test or a closed book test? (Why ask? Not asking shows more confidence, I think)

Once again, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to talk to me about your programmer’s position and for giving me the opportunity to demonstrate my skills for you. I appreciate very much your time and consideration.

Good luck with the test, Clive
