Hi,

1) “He made some bad decisions that threw his family finances off track.”

Could this be used if I wanted to say that he got his family into a tough financial situation?

2) “I have/get this feeling of dread wash over me whenever I set foot in school.”

I know that you usually say that ‘something washes over you’, but I was wondering if the construction with ‘have’ or ‘get’ is natural as well. I’m not so sure.

Thank you.
