What is the feeling that you have after an enjoyable day when you get back very, very, very tired? Satisfied is perhaps not the right word as it does not denote the fact that you are perhaps too tired to be satisfied.

Can you think of a more appropriate word?

I think I'd simply say: "tired but happy" or (more extreme) "utterly exhausted but deeply satisfied/content".

Thanks. It's just that I feel tha if you're so tired, happiness (or even satisfaction) suggests alertness. I know what I want to say but can't get the word out of its filing cabinet somewhere inside my brain!
Maybe "content" suggests less 'alertness'?

Langurous is a good one. "characterized by tiredness or inactivity, especially of a pleasurable kind."
