Hi there! Im about to take the toefl IBT on a couple of days and I would be very grateful if someone could help me reviewing this text!!

The article talks about the benefits that bring professors appeareances on TV.

The article claims that, when a professor appear con Television, it can bring benefits to him self, as to the universities and the public that is watching him. However the lecturer disagrees with each one of the points made by the author, by saying that in fact it brings only disadvantages.

To begin, the author says that professors appearances on TV are good for them selfs manily because on that way they can be seen as authorities in their academic fields among more people. The professor disagrees with this statment because she believes that, when a professor appear on TV, the fellow professors stop taking them searious, as they think that they preffer to appear on TV rather than teaching.

The second point the article claims is that universities can get earnings from professors appearance on TV, since it can be seen as good publicity for them. But the professors oposses this by arguing that all the time wasted that is necesarry for traveling to the studio, preparing the presentation and even in looking good in front of the cameras, reduces the time aviable for the professor to actually teach.

The final point the article makes is that the public can have the chance to learn about an specific subject directly from experts. The professor refuses this by saying that TV Networks preffer simpler topics than complex ones, due to the fact that people usually watch TV while they are doing something else, like eating and a complicated subject could causes them to loose viewers.

For all these reasons the professors is against of the article's statement.
