Hi!

********************

Mrs. Heathcote took her husbands part very strongly, and gave Mrs. Growler as hard a scolding as she knew how to pronounce.

********************

What does that underlined part mean?

I assume that part mean that "She considered her husband importantly".

Comments
No: she supported her husband strongly.
Oh!

I see....

By the way....

Mr. Micawber, could you let me know where your picture that is being seen comes from?

The picture looks mysterious and arouse curiosity....
Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?
I found it on the web, but frankly cannot remember where. I googled 'Guru'.
It has always made me think of the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz. Which, by the way, frightened me terribly when I was a child.
When I google "guru", I find Mallika Sherawat.

Things could have been very different round here.

That's because Mallika Sherawat acted a cameo in a movie called guru, which is quite a hit down here.
Things could have been very different round here.
They still can be, MrP, they still can be-- Mallika's image is still unclaimed as an avatar.
