Dear Moderators!
There are too many religious (especially Islamic) threads in the Forum. And some of them in my humble opinion may be regarded as a direct propaganda of some kinds of religious movements.
It's quite OK if such kind of discussions is going on in Contraversial Subject under the guidance of moderators, but there are more and more threads like that.
Would it be OK to make a special section for religoius talks and move all such threads there for those who are interested to discuss them in a good company of fellow-believers and on the other hand to avoid meeting such posts everywhere?

Hello Dew,

I'm not sure we would want to create a special "religious" section, as the "Controversial" section should suffice for religious or political questions.

But if you find a thread that seems controversial in a section other than "Controversial", please report the post, or alert a moderator, so that it can be moved if necessary.

Best wishes,

MrP
It's not that the topic seems to be really contraversial. It doesn't presuppose a kind of discussion. There are numerous threads that might be regarded as a kind of spam - that sounds like "Islam is the best religion - join!"

Is it really the Topic of the day? Are we so eager to join this religion&
Whatever is said that doesn't coincide with the original idea of the post is regarded vulgar.

Of course we all should be tolerant to the beliefs of the others, but this tolerance becomes a kind of abuse of the people of different religions and beliefs. Or kind of henocide of one religion towards the other members of the forum.

I think the problem needs to be thought over

Dew, on the matter I don’t agree with you. Dividing people into groups for example believers, unbelievers, Islamists, Orthodoxies, Christians etc don’t lead to reconciliation but only breeds distrust and hostility. We should talk openly and frankly with one another and shouldn’t shut ourselves away in narrow groups/circles. When we get to know each other better I’m convinced that the life on the Earth become much more pleasant and safer.

By the way about topics which are moderated. Maybe you have good reasons to check the posts, you have keep the forum neat / tidy and care for obeying the law but sometimes I feel like in communistic Poland where all statements were monitored and got past the censors.

On Polish forums I haven't met with approving posts yet. I don’t quite understand what is the aim of this. Of course vulgar or offensive posts are deleted but only after posting. Do you think that Poles go over the top with freedom of speech?
Different moderators take a different approach to this sort of thing.

Personally, I let through ones that are genuinely opening or continuing a debate or exchange of ideas, but I delete any that are just promoting any specific religion.

Sometimes - when exactly, Dominik? I agree with Nona - every mod has his own approach on approving posts. And since we have mods from a great many countries (Canada, the USA, the UK, Italy, Russia, India, Japan, Indonesia, the UAE, etc), I think there shouldn't be any problem with the freedom of speech.
Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?
Dominik - if you are a registered user then only posts to the Contraversial section are moderated and approved before appearing (we've learnt from experience!). Your posts to any other section do not go through moderation.
Yes, it's about Contraversial section. Sometimes I had to wait a few hours to see my post. It can be irritating.

Well, that is the price for being "controversial".Emotion: smile
I agree with Ruslana, there are mods from the whole world, we can surely say that this Forum is balanced
