The sun looking like a torch of gold gradually spreads its light all over the dark sky.

Is the sentence correct for prose writing?

Thanks.

No. The sun can't look like a torch because it is round. Is the torch gold or is it the flame of the torch? You would need commas around "looking like a torch of gold" if it made sense. The sky can't be dark now that the light is spread all over it. Mind the sense. You can't just wax lyrical with your brain turned off.
