I have two questions.

Is it uniform police officer, or uniformed police officer?

Is is plainclothes officer, or plain-clothed officer?

Does it matter? Are they interchangeable words?

(I sometimes hear "plainclothes officer" used casually by native speakers.)

uniformed officers and plainclothes officers

This dictionary has no entry for "plainclothed" or "plain-clothed". (And I don't believe I've ever heard that word.)

Thanks for the correction, Jim. Google doesn't like it either! Emotion: embarrassed
