I would like to know the difference between "1"and "2".

1. I'm upset when you come home late.

2. I'm angry when you come home late.

Hi,

The basic idea of 'upset' is that my composure/calmness is disturbed. It often means that I am unhappy, sometimes only to a mild degree.

eg I am upset because my cat died.

eg I am upset because I broke my favourite cup.

Best wishes, Clive

You may not be angry if you are upset.
