Hi
I have seen closed off in the sense of reserved. Does this sound natural to you?
When I first met her, she was very closed off.
Thanks,
Tom
I'll have to add another 'no'. I haven't heard that expression with that meaning. Maybe it's British?

Thanks, CJ and AStar.
I think the speaker is from the US. Regional dialect, in your opinion?
@ 17:53
Tom
The man who starts speaking at 17:53 speaks General American as far as I can tell, though there may be a little Mid-Atlantic (East Coast, neither far north nor far south) accent in there. On the whole, it's middle-of-the-road American English with nothing very remarkable about it.
