Hi

I have seen pinpointing used in Indian films and magazines something like this.

(In the sense of pointing a finger at...)

  1. Too much of pinpointing is not good. (fussing over, fault-finding, etc)
  2. We must'not indulge in pinpointing all the time.

Can you tell me how it sounds to your native ears please?

Best,

Tom

It sounds wrong.

pinpoint is a word that sounds positive. It means locate something accurately.

It sounds wrong. "Pointing a finger at" does not mean fussing over or fault-finding, too. I use "nitpicking" for the first one and "finger pointing" for the second, and "of" is wrong in the first one.
