So the question is whether you can understand anything from the voice message I just recorded. I think my English was terrible -.-

I think I can get all of it except "... currently I am using the cheap ???". Is it something "webcam"? A brand name maybe? I had to listen two or three times, but I think that's at least partly because of imperfect audio quality and reproduction on rubbish laptop speakers. If I was speaking to you face to face I might have understood it all first time.
I tried to say this:

Hi there people. I'm currently testing your relatively new audio feature. It seems good
but can you advise me anything to avoid annoying background noises? Currently I'm using
a cheap Canyon webcam.
Did you understand something similar? I wasn't able to understand my last sentence very well (I just listened to it again) so it is good to know that you were Emotion: big smile I have problems with pronouncing some English sounds (theta sound and its voiced pair is especially hard, e.g.). Does it hurt the ears if somebody pronounce these two sounds wrong? By the way it is only a problem that I notice. I'm sure there are much more problems.

Is the quality terrible or could be understandable (in case of clearer speech)?

Yes, that brand name is not important at all. I just guess that I won't be able to improve the quality of the sound, filter the noise, etc.. I'm not familiar with it I just tried to read about it on the internet and found that some people say that better quality would be possible only with a better device. This webcam was the cheapest in a shop.

Apart from the word "Canyon", which I didn't get, that's exactly what I heard (after a couple of attempts).

Your pronunciations of "th" in "there" and "anything" sound reasonably good. Your pronunciation of "w" in "webcam" is not very clear. Overall, you have a fairly strong accent that I would have guessed was Russian (hope that doesn't offend!), but I see you are actually from Hungary. I would say that your pronunciation overall is fair -- not of the highest quality but certainly not dreadful.

Not at all. It was a completely innocent statement. Emotion: smile

Generally speaking I prefer honesty to kindness and like understandable (detailed) explanations/help. I think I get it here Emotion: smile

I will strive to make it perfect. This is among my goals. Emotion: yes
Hole One a New See can you advise me anything to avoid annoying background noises?
You might like to try recording your voice at a lower volume. I hear a lot of distortion which makes it more difficult to hear what you are saying. There is not much you can do about background noise except try to keep it to a minimum. Doors and windows closed. Recording at a lower volume will make background noise less noticeable.

Try to get as near to the microphone as possible but be careful that you are not too loud or you will get distortion again. One trick you can try is to be close to the microphone but don't face it directly. Talk across it. This will help to avoid recording plosives.

If you can get a good voice signal, this will mask the background noise and it will only be audible in the parts where you are not speaking.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Optilang Emotion: smile

I didn't try to lower the volume (I feel myself a little bit silly because it really sounds logical and obvious).

I will experiment a little bit with it because that distortion is really terrible.
