Sentence: "Certainly not us, it was/were your own MSM friends, for whom u right these days, did it."

My question/doubt: I used was verb in my sentence. Later I realized it could be wrong. So want to confirm from you. Did I use the right verb ? or Should it be "were" verb in place of "was" verb ?

Thanks

Hi,

Sentence: "Certainly not us, it was/were your own MSM friends, for whom u right these days, did it."

My question/doubt: I used was verb in my sentence. Later I realized it could be wrong. So want to confirm from you. Did I use the right verb ? or Should it be "were" verb in place of "was" verb ?

'It' is singular. Say 'it was'. You are stating a single fact, or at least an opinion.

Your sentence has a lot of other problems.

"It was certainly not us. It was your own MSM friends, whom you write for these days, who did it."

Actually the sentence was in a reply to somebody, it was not in a written form hence this abbreviations. And sorry for using sms text "u" I used it by mistake.

Thanks
