Here I'm going to provide some Saudi customs:
1- Relations Between the Sexes
1- Relations Between the Sexes
- Because of the strict segregation of the sexes, there is very little communication between men and women in public.
- Men and women do not shake hands.
- Eye contact should be avoided with anyone of the opposite sex.
- A Western man meeting a Saudi man in the street, accompanied by his wife, should not expect to be introduced to the wife. Many Saudi men, meeting a Western couple, will not acknowledge the presence of the wife.
- Westerners, male or female, should not greet members of the opposite sex unless they have been introduced, and know that the Saudi has liberal opinions.
- Nor should they expect their presence to be acknowledged by someone of the opposite sex. This is not rudeness, just the local custom.
- It is one thing being introduced in private, in the company of friends or spouse, and another walking up to someone in the street.
- Any deviation from the accepted norms could be interpreted as desire to start a relationship, whether this is the intention or not.

Hello all.
I am an American and I lived in Saudi Arabia for about a year near a place called AL Jabail on the coast.
My opinion is this. I feel that Saudi Arabia is one of the most wealthy countries in the middle east. I feel that it is hot, very very hot.
I would say this is a wonderful contry to live in the middle east if you were a sunni muslim, However if you are not a sunni muslim this place will probably not be that great for you.
I am a christian and from the United States. Because I believe in Freedom of religion and Freedom of speech, I hated every moment I was in Saudi Arabia.

Super-DaveBecause I believe in Freedom of religion and Freedom of speech, I hated every moment I was in Saudi Arabia.i agree with you but the problem is peaople in saudi arabia mix riligion with tridition
all muslims belive in all of thses 2 religions christianity , jewism
i mean all countries respect religions if i was in amarica i can pray and preform my religion without any problems
and about freedom of speach ....i cant say any thing

and about being wealthy country......will we have a very high rate of poverty and most of peaople dont know that
but after all saudi arabia is wonderful country its safe and most of peaople are very nice
the thing irealy like about saudi arabia is the college education is free and they give u about 300 dolars every month just for studying
and they send thousend of students to study abroad and they took care of every thing
cool isnt it???

When I was in Saudi Arabia the only poor people I saw were the Bedouins. If I remember correctly the Bedouins are not even real citizens of Saudi Arabia.
You say that all contries respect religion. This is not true. Can you name any Christian Churches in Saudi Arabia?
I can take you through my city and show you atleast 2 mosques.
If I came to visit you and your family and I tried talking to your family about the Bible and about God and christianity, could not the police have me arrested?
In Saudi Arabia I could and probably would be arrested for practicing my religion. However in my country not only can you practice your religion but in fact even Christians will fiercely protect muslims right to believe and practice their religion. We might not agree about religion and the Truth about God, But we will fight to protect anyones right to believe and practice their religion.
There are several great problems between Christianity and Islam. I do not know if they can ever be resolved. However I do believe that if something is not done soon, a great war between civilizations could occur. Possibly millions could die.
