Unfortunately, whatever written here is not true. Today Zaza people live almost everywhere in Turkey especially in the eastern part of Tueky. They can speak zaza in their daily life freely. Since the formal language is Turkish in Turkey, they cannot use it for their formal affairs. It is also claimed here that there was jenocide against zazas. That is completely a lie. In 1938 people around Tunceli and some other regions rebelled against the government. What the government did was only to defence itself against these people who rebelled and arrested their leaders and gave them penalty death.
wwwwooooww do you think that kurdish people came to Turkey from the space a few years ago???? Turks and Kurds are brothers and they live together about a thousand years but some of the european countries decieve some of them and try use use some kurdish people liketheir toys. Eventhough these european countries and America say that they are against teroorism, in reality they themselves support the terrorism everywhere.

DEAR READERS

ZAZAS ARE 100 PERCENT KURDISH. NO QUESTION?

TRYING TO DIVIDE ZAZAS, ALEVIS, KIZILBASH APART FROM KURDISH ORIGIN IS A MEAN TACTIC USED BY FASCIST TURKISH IDEOLOGISTS TO WEAKEN THE STRUGGLE OF KURDISH PEOPLE FOR A FREE KURDISTAN.

WE KURDS HAVE MANY DIALECTS LIKE: KURMANCI, ZAZAKI, SORANI, GORANI, MANY OTHER.

WE KURDS HAVE BEEN OPPRESSED SINCE THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE TO FORGET OUR LANGUAGE, CULTURE AND RELIGION. AND MORE AGGRESSIVELY SINCE COLLAPSE OF OTTOMAN EMPIRE AND CREATION KEMAL ATATURK'S REPUBLIC.

DERSIMI SHOULD REMEMBER BECAUSE WE WERE ALEVI AND KURDISH 50.000 OF US WERE KILLED BY ATATURK'S ARMY. HOW CAN WE STILL QUESTION OUR KURDISHNESS? BE PROUD TO SAY:I AM ALEVI. I AM KIZILBASH. I AM KURDISH. BE AWARE THAT KURDISTAN, NOW ESTERN ANATOLIA WAS THE FIST HOMELAND TO CIVILIZATION.

CIVILIZATION SPREAD TO THE WORLD FROM EASTERN ANATOLIA. AND KNOW THAT INDO EUROPEAN LANGUAGES STEM FROM EASTERN ANATOLIA.

SO WHAT EVER OUR DIFFERENCES; ZAZAS, SORANI, EZIDI, KURMANCI, GORANI.......... WE ARE THE BRANCHES OF THE SAME TREE.

NOBODY WANTS SEE US UNITED ESPECIALLY OUR ENEMIES WHO TOOK US HOSTAGE IN OUR HOMELAND. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEM I TELL YOU: TURKEY,IRAN ,SYRIA AND IRAQ. ITS TIME TOUNITE FOR INDEPENDENCE NOT TO BE DISTRACTED BY MANOUVERS OF THE KNOWN ENEMIES.

LOVE AND RESPECT YOUR ORIGIN TO LOVE AND RESPECT THE HUMANITY.

WRIITTEN BY ALEVI KIZILBASH

Among Kurdish Social groups, Zazas identify themselves with different names changing from region to region. Kirmancs, Kirds, Dimili/Dumbili and Zazas. And the dialect carry the names of their different regions - Kirmanchki, Kirdki, Dimilki and Zazaki. Compared to other Kurdish dialects, their dialect alone retains characteristics from ancient languages which have been preserved through time.
Zazas, although only one of the several Kurdish social groups, identify themselves by different names. The names change from region to region Kirmancs, Kirds, Dimili/Dumbili and Zaza, and each dialect takes the name of the regions in which they are spoken (Kirmancki, Kirdki, Dimilki and Zazaki). Unlike the other Kurdish dialects, it is Zazaki which retains characteristics from earlier languages from its history.
In this article I will present, in general information about the Kurdish social group mentioned above and specifically of the Zazas.

I am a zazaki girl and im living in turkey. And my friend you should know that we are not Kurd . Are german's British? ¿ nop. And there are a bunch of a researches made about our history and our genes and ethnical difference between kurds. And all of them proved that we are definitely not kurds. I grow up with them and i can say that maybe the language family will be the same with kurds but culture daily language and physical appearances are Totally different. They are majority, like turks. And i support your idea about not having sympathy to turks because they never let us talk our own language the are denying our identity and they are usually think that we are terrorists in cotrast they've killed us slughtered us and kept us away from our Natural rights like education and still we are the slaves of them in daily life. From many aspects they've betrait us for many times. But i still dont support the idea of moving in to another country or fighting with guns and terrorism. We can make our language and race strong with science Education and humanism as our grand Grand phaders done like Ömer Hayyam, Mevlana and Nizam-ul Mülk.
Hi there!
Let me bring on some answers to get rid of the question marks above your head. I'm a Zaza from Tunceli/Dersim. First of all we are not Kurds. Apart from Kurds we've came here from different places. Most people says Zaza ancestors were Huns(That's why we are bloody tall like old Turks). I don't know about the Hun thing but it might be true. Even before that, Zaza people were the noble, castle folk of the Persian empire. They went to Iran and had to leave there because of the invasions of Islamic Arabs. They saw Kurds and joined them during their travel towards East, mighty Empire of Ottomans. Zaza people are stated as "Zaza-Kurds" in the historical files of Turks. That's because of their lower number than Kurds. Zazaki is more similar to Turkish than Kurdish. Which makes it a different language. Zazaki is almost forgetten because of the slaughter the government did at Tunceli in 1938. It's stated as rebellion but it's not. Wiki says there were 6000 bandits there. Is that why 13.000 people were officially killed? Is that why there were more deads than that which were not stated in the historical files? It wasn't a rebellion at all. Even the files of Turkey says that. Wiki says there were 100 soldiers dead from Turkey. It's a lie as well. And that official lie is stated in the history files. There were 2 soldiers who were killed. And they died when some of the people resisted the slaughter. Even the folk of Tunceli accepts those soldiers as their loss. And we also pray for them like we do for our deads.

All fake information.

1. Not only the Zaza people are allowed to speak their language freely, but they can open legally schools in Zaza language, broadcast television and radio channels in Zaza. Turkish television started broadcasting Zaza one of its own channels.

2. The uprisings have nothing to do with Zaza ethnicity but to do with resistance to Mustafa Kemal's westernisation and establishment of a modern nation state. The numbers of dead are hearsay.
