I found the following sentence on a website.

I am honored to have taken this picture.

I cannot understand why the writer has used "to have taken" instead of "to take". Therefore, I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know why they have used have and past participle instead of just using a simple verb - “take”.

In addition, I also would like to know what is the difference between the following sentence and the above sentence.

I am honored to take this picture.

dileepa dharmasiriI am honored to have taken this picture.

The picture won a major award. The speaker took it a year ago.

dileepa dharmasiriI am honored to take this picture.

The speaker is at a party and the people there choose him to photograph the group. He is getting them ready so they will all be in the picture. He has not snapped the shutter yet.

Thank you very much for the answer. Though, it seems as though this is a simple question, I spend a significant amount of time to understand this precisely. So, thank you again.
