Many times I hear terms like left-wing politician and right-wing politician. Yesterday this was the headline on BBC world: ''Nine policemen are killed on an anti-narcotics mission in Colombia, victims of left-wing rebels, say the authorities.'' What does left-wing and right-wing mean?

CalifJimYour first attempt was better: Just say "Nothing more".

"Not much more" makes sense, but it has a different meaning. It means "just a little more".

BokehThe terms left and right or left-wing and right-wing are used in a ridiculous attempt to arrange every political concept along a single axis.
Hi Bokeh,

Please explain your answer a little further. Thank you.

I think I'd rather stick to English.
I'd like to share an episode of my learning the word wing. The political implications of the right wing and the left wing had impressed me so much that I eagerly searched for the similar implication of it when I first saw the TV serial drama The West Wing. Came out the result it's just the relative location of the President's Oval Office of the White House. Kinda funny, isn't it?Emotion: big smile

Hi Maple,

I see you have written:

The political implications of the right wing and the left wing had impressed me so much that I eagerly searched for the similar implication of it when I first saw the TV serial drama The West Wing.

Are you sure the above sentence is correct?

Best wishes, Jackson
Hi, Jackson.

The sentence I wrote is not a good one I think. But I don't know if ther're any grammar mistakes in it and how to rearrange it to make it smoother and more readable.

Hi Maple,

Your English is far superior than mine. The fact is I could not understand your sentence. I hope you would not mind me if I ask someone to make its meaning clear to me.

Do you consider the following sentence correct? Why is that I could not undertand its meaning?

The political implications of the right wing and the left wing had impressed me so much that I eagerly searched for the similar implication of it when I first saw the TV serial drama The West Wing.
