Hi wepro,
I love your avatar!

The "tips" are the parts at the very end.

Similar to your fingertips , which are the last parts of your fingers. .
Really, a more accurate word might be the leaf "end," or "termination." Think of, um, a lacrosse racket, or even a tennis racket. Now flatten the handle of the racket into a wide leaf. The part at the end, or tip, is the "trap."

PS - I had to go check the plant currently residing on my windowsill to come up with this Emotion: smile
