Diversity means variety. Every individual has something that differences it from another. It implies that every single individual you are communicating with is unique in his own way. We are diverse, because we have different background, sex, beliefs, and opinions. Diversity is something that makes our life interesting and manifold!

I know nothing about diversity role in admission polices.

I think if a school has one, my first reaction is that is not fair. It is not fair to those students who deserve to get in according to their performace in high school. Color of your skin and other non-academic except altheletic performance should not play a role on admission. That is my opinon. May be in the future, I might change. But now, I do not like it.
