I am completing the Celta preinterview task sheet. Question 2 (under the heading 'verb forms') says to correct the error in the question below.
'What will you do this weekend?' I have been a native English speaker for over 30 years and as far as I know this question is not incorrect, which leads me to suspect it is a trick question. I have searched the internet and my grammar text book to no avail. Can anyone help?

I agree that it is perfectly correct and natural. Unfortunately, it is not meant as a trick question; it is either overly prescriptive or just poorly conceived. The answer they presumably want is 'What are you going to do this weekend?', where 'be going to' future indicates a plan or intention ('will' future is thought of by many grammarians as a simple statement of future fact based on present knowledge).
