Dear all,

Kindly tell which of the following sentences have the correct word order.

2) Didn't we meet at the conference in Paris last year?

3) Didn't we meet last year in Paris at the conference?

Those are all OK.

I didn't expect that all are correct. Thanks a lot. I would like to ask you one question here. Please tell me why you used "those" instead of "these." If we see these sentences either on our mobile or on the computer they are near us. So can't we use "these"?

Thank you.

I didn't give any conscious thought to that. Perhaps I felt that they were your sentences, not mine.

Yes, I got it. Thanks a lot.

This one has "canonical order": place, then time.

That doesn't mean the others are wrong, but when in doubt, use canonical order.

CJ Sir, I understand. Thanks a lot.
