Which one is more correct - "I see yellow flowers in the green grass" or "I see yellow flowers on the green grass"? There is a book called "I see yellow flowers in the green grass" and some of my friends argue that "on the green grass" is more suitable. Can you explain the difference between them and which should I choose for a perfect answer?

in the green grass is more natural. It sounds like the flowers are rooted in the earth.

on sounds a bit like the flowers are merely resting on top of the grass, but are not rooted in the earth.
