Would you tell me which do you usually use for a distance?

1. a quarter mile

2. a thousand feet

Both are not the same, but I want you to tell me the likeliness to use.

If you're saying how far you have to walk or drive, you'll probably say"a quarter mile".

If you're measuring the length or height of something like a street or a building, you'll probably say "a thousand feet".

Excuse me, not likeliness but tendency.
