Thank you Pieanne, and what about this other sentence I have read?:
' Occasional solicitations for a piano recital still arrived "from some small place," and Glenn's standard response was, "Oh, one of those where they want you to play Chopin WHILE PUSHING A PINK PIANO UP York Street naked." This fantasy may have originated partly in Glenn's outspoken fascination for the popular coktail pianist Liberace ... who claimed that he was homosexual and he fought the suit and won.
Thanks in advance, Any.

Which parts are the original quotation? All of it? I'd take it to mean that Glenn was occasionally asked to give piano recitals, but he felt, sarcastically, that they wanted too much from him. Or it could have been a comment on the venues in the sense that they are known for sexualised/novelty/bizarre/homosexual acts?

Not sure about the comment 'This fantasy....onwards. Did Glenn like or dislike Liberace (who by the way claimed he was NOT homosexual and won a lawsuit on that)? That might put it in context better...
