Conventionally, the dissimilarities in strengths and weakness between men and women have affected the people's awareness of the occupation determination based on genders. Some jobs suit one particular gender over the other from social expectations. For instance, women are considered to become nurses, nanny or teachers due to their gentleness and carefulness. Meanwhile, men are expected to hold positions demanding rigidity in character and strength. Traditional perspective usually features gender exclusion in some certain professions. However, from my viewpoint, modern societies have to accelerate the equality between men and women by eliminating the gender factor consideration in any job recruitments.
Traditional communities tend to assign women with feminine features and similarly men with masculine traits. Therefore, human beings are incidentally seen as owning different strengths and weaknesses based on gender difference. Women cannot work in scientific fields because the aridness of natural sciences contrasts with the elegance, lightness, and gentleness in the female character. On the other hand, men hardly make commiseration when they take up jobs in customer service, teaching children, designing clothes, and so on since those jobs cannot illustrate their masculinity. Both men and women have to bear the prejudices that they are not allowed to choose jobs not reflecting their gender characteristics despite their undeniable ability.
It is outdated to maintain gender exclusion from certain professions, in my opinion, because of some reasons. First, gender equality campaigns breaking out for many recent years have made people pay more attention to rights to be treated fairly in any workplaces notwithstanding the differences in nationality, race, and vitally sexes. Besides, rewarding achievements in a career can be obtained by people owning competences, knowledge and capacity, not by their gender. Moreover, that differences in strengths and weaknesses may lead to the disproportion in productivity and effectiveness is just the misconception of the society because strengths can be promoted, and weakness can be improved. Finally, the essence of jobs is not related to sexes, but persons have made efforts to mention the gender dissimilarities to limit one gender to approach jobs that are dominated by the other.
In conclusion, human beings have been undergoing modernity, and everyone has the right to decide to pursue their occupation on their own. The community, therefore, must grant individuals equal rights and throw the gender exclusion away from the recruitment criteria and should focus more on human capacity. A developed society is the society getting the contributions from both males and females in various aspects instead of the dominance of the only gender.
