Hello,

1. He wrote to her every day.

Is this sentence correct? Is the use of "every day" with simple past tense correct?

a) He wrote her every day.

Is (a) correct?

b) He used to write to her.

Is (b) the same in meaning as (1)?

I would have reversed those.

wrote her / to her (BrE)
wrote to her (AmE)

But I have no proof.

a. He wrote her (AmE)
He wrote to her ( BritE)

Used to sounds more habitual.

Yes.

He wrote to her every day.
He swam every day.
We took the bus to work every day.
The workers were paid at the end of the day every day.
We ate rice every day.

These (wrote, swam, ...) mean the same as used to write, used to swim, used to take, used to be (paid), and used to eat.
