Hi, I just want to say thank you to anyone who spares their precious time to help me with my clumsy writing. Have a day that is as lovely as you!
Task 1: The graph below gives information about the percentage of people living in Australia who were born in Asia, the UK, and other regions.
The line graph shows the total and relatively partial proportion of Australians born in Asia, the UK, and other regions from 1976 to 2011.
Despite being the highest in 1976, the percentage of people born in the UK dropped so significantly throughout the years that it was the main reason why the total portion hit a low in 2002. On the other hand, the total percentage exceeded the 1976’s value at the end of the period thanks to the Asia-born increasing proportion.
Specifically, in 1976, the UK-born percentage was around 14%, more than half the total amount. Over the next 26 years, the relative number of people born in Asia went up from 3 to 5%, while that of other countries decreased then rising again of about 4% by 2002. At the end of the period, the total percentage went down by 2%, mainly due to the mentioned drop in the UK-born’s value.
As for the period between 2002 and 2011, the portion of people born in the UK continued to decline and stood at 5% in 2011, less than half of that of the 1976’s level. Meanwhile, after 2006, the proportion of people born in other countries went from rising to falling and reached approximately 13% in 2011. By contrast, in the same year, the total percentage rose significantly thanks to the five-times higher value of Asian-born.
