SkuldI doubt I understood what you meant by your question.. but if you are asking for an onomatopoeic to reproduce a 'sizzling' sound, what about 'sssssssss' ?

I was going to suggest that 'sizzle' is onomatopoeic, but then I may have misunderstood the question.

Philip,

You`re right, "sizzle" is a perfectly onomatopoeic word. And I know "ssss" is in no way a word, but I think it can imitate a sound in nature, and I didn`t know how else to say this at the time. I imagined a situation in which anonymous wanted, for example, to write a comic book about , say , a cooking event and pictured the frying pan, the butter in it, next to which you`d usually have something written "reproducing" the specific sound of the sizzling butter. I don`t know how to write comic books, but I have come across a couple, and I can`t imagine "sizzles! " in that context, I intuitively find it analogous to writing "disgusting! " instead of the interjection "yuck!"
In Romania for example we use something like "sfrrr" but oddly enough, butter seems to sizzle differently from one country to another. Emotion: smile
I thought about this scenario because I couldn`t think of any other one in which he would need such a thing. Perhaps a sadistic school assignment?

It's akin to tzzzz

i think it should be'ssssss'
